Above and Below the Surface- Benyamini Center Lecture Series 2020-21
The annual lecture series is returning in an online format of eight meetings with more than 25 makers – artists and designers – who will talk about different aspects of their practice and the practice of others.
This year the meetings will focus on artists from Israel and abroad from a broad variety of professional backgrounds who will talk about their work and the work of others who inspire them and discuss the complex relationship between maker and the making process and the influence of the creation/object on the user or observer.
The meetings will include discussions about historical ceramic objects, objects as they are analyzed by designers, personal accounts of leading artists in the history of Israeli ceramics, exposure to contemporary artists from abroad that have a unique and fascinating approach to ceramics, etc.
The lectures are suitable for the general public.
The meetings will be one to one and half hours long once a month on Sunday evenings at 20:00 on Zoom starting 20/11/2020 (Full details of the meetings will be advertised soon)
