Each year tens of young makers complete their studies, each a world on his own of opinions, standpoints, motivations, feelings, and emotions.  In the first years after completing their studies they are immersed in a process of crystalizing their viewpoint and their identity as makers.

This exhibition tries to create a perspective of these years and examines the works of 16 young makers to learn what interests them at this point in their careers, how their making broadens the field and what can be concluded from their personal works regarding cultural issues of our time.

From the works it is obvious that there is a connection between their personal statement and the use of technology and clay.  Three directions are evident: investigating technology and craft as a personal expression, observing the border between the past and present, and the dialog between original and reproduction.  As such, the object is the personal, unique expression, expanding the self as a maker.  At the same time, they examine the characteristics of the clay, what can be learned from its origin and how does the processing dialog with the original giving it a new form while questioning the meaning of original and reproduction, old and new, natural, and manufactured as well as their place in the industrial digital world.  In other words, these makers are writing the history of their making while forging their worldview.
