Masterclass with Eleonora Orly Edlavitch and Naama Steinbock

Masterclass : Sunday 10/10/21 at 19:30, with Eleonora Orly Edlavitch and Naama Steinbock

As part of the 10 year celebrations of the Benyamini Center, artists, designers, and makers were invited to submit a proposal for a summer residency in the studio of the center.

The Benyamini Center has offered residencies for several years and we have hosted artists from Israel and abroad.  This project is a collaborative project offered by the Benyamini School of Ceramic Art and the Benyamini Gallery and will focus on local artists/designers. It has received the support of Mifal Hapais and the winners will receive a work station in the studio, materials, professional guidance as needed and a stipend.

Elenora Orly Edlavitch works on the border between art and design in a variety of ways used in ceramic industrial design combining advanced technologies with trational work methods with the aim of expressing contemporary ideas. Orly works in small and precise series, trying out new work methods while her main influence is historical ceramics especially from Europe.

Naama Steinbock is a product designer who tries to clarify her language, the language of design.  She is inspired by objects which she researches, asking questions and looking for her own answers, combining her tools as a product designer with hand making skills.  In the past years Naama has learnt to throw on the wheel and in the residency has decided to investigate one of her favorite objects – the teapot.
