Guest Lecturer: Sharan Elran – Designer

“My research is process driven. I am interested in how technology stimulates the development of new forms and discourses. Using my background in physics and software engineering, I’m exploring simple mathematical formulae that generate very complex systems. My works are based on modular and dynamic molds, designed to produce a family of forms instead of copies of the same object.

In addition, I’m a part of lightexture—a design trio that specializes in lighting design. In this context I use light as my material and clay as an editing tool for light. I am exploring how light defines space and softens rigid architectural surroundings”
