Masterclass with Bozena Sachartzuc

Wednesday 18/6/14 at 16:30

Bozena Sachartzuc – a Polish artist, who currently lives, creates and teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw – Poland. The potter’s wheel is used as a starting point for the creation of a body of work which is large in dimensions, sensuous and sculptural in qualities – monumental and impressive. Vessels in a variety of compositions form installations which are strong, expressive and meaningful. The artist tries to perpetuate in clay the same unique qualities which are inherent in wheelwork – softness, fluidity, movement, flow. The artist’s hand marks are well imprinted in the clay. Surface treatment of lines in rhythmic repetition, limited and ascetic coloring, strengthens and supports organic poetic forms which take their inspiration from nature as well as archaic classical vessels.
