Gallery talk and Closing event in the exhibition Stack / Yaara Rabinovitch

Saturday, 2/12/2023 at 11:30

A gallery talk between the artist and the curator, the event will include the dismantling and sale of a stack of plates.

At the heart of her first solo exhibition, Yaara Rabinovich, architect, designer, and ceramic artist, is one of the three basic shapes, a plate.  Rabinovich’s view of the plate is an object devoid of its purpose over all the years.  For her it is not another designed vessel to serve the ancient practice of eating.  She isolates it and makes this basic object unique, starting in Denmark as a plate that was cut on one side which then opened the world of ceramics for her. She disconnects the plate from its original purpose and uses it to examine her personal journey. (Naama Haneman, the Curator of the exhibition)

At the event, the artist will dismantle the stack of plates and thread out plate after plate. This is a unique moment that opens up the opportunity to experience the artistic analysis behind the work and register from a close and personal distance.

As part of the event, visitors will have the opportunity to buy plates at a special cost of 180 NIS, the plates are functional, conceptual and decorative (Part of the proceeds from the sale of the plates will be donated to the rebuilding of Kfar Azza)

* Entrance is free and open to the general public
