Participants: Maiyan Ben Yona, Tamara Anne Efrat, Lior Shachar
Today, along with working in the studio, most artists invest a lot of time in digital activities: maintaining a website that is often a shop, posting stories on Instagram and social media. This requires planning, designing, and writing content which reflects the spirit of the works and the designer. We will discuss these issues with three artists that are active in the studio and in the media: expressing the design language of the studio in the various platforms, defining the target population, style and type of posts, and the means required to maintain a virtual presence of their works.
Tamara Anne Efrat – a multidisciplinary designer and entrepreneur. She has an independent textile studio. Her works deal with the relationship between traditional craft and advanced technologies. She has a first degree in fashion design from Shenkar and a master’s degree from Bezalel in industrial design and technology. She works under her own brand, lectures, and advises start-ups and companies on textiles and design. Her Instagram page.
Maiyan Ben Yona – potter and designer. She has a ceramic studio in Tel Aviv, graduate of the Ceramic and Glass department, Bezalel. Ben Yona combines ceramic materials and techniques, and inspiration from various sources to create objects that are functional and decorative with a rich and personal style. Her website.
Lior Shachar– specializes in design and manufacture of ceramic functional kitchen and serving vessels under the name 1220℃. She is a graduate of the Midrasha Art College. Shachar developed a design style that combines functionality with aesthetics and specializes in making vessels that are similar but not identical – each piece has its own identity.
