Materials library. Material, Research, and Innovation

Lecturer: Gil Hertz Kovo

What is material? What are the material trends in the world? What are the consumer trends that influence planning and selection of materials by designers?
These questions amongst others will be the basis for the lecture by Gil Hertz Kovo who is substituting as the director of the Aharon Feiner Eden Materials Library, Holon Design Museum. The Materials Library is a knowledge center for material research and innovation. The library has a collection of samples of cutting-edge materials in Israel and the world. In the past few years emphasis has been placed on sustainability as a world trend and amongst others one can find: acoustic tiles made from mushrooms, textiles from banana fibers and a
