Clay for me is a three-dimensional page that is repeatedly exposed to a high temperature and captures layers of touching, colors, signatures and stories.  At the end of the process there is an object – a jug, sculpture or pin. These objects also have an unofficial function as a time capsule, witness to the atmosphere and human interaction of the workshop where they were made, where they waited to complete the process and be released into the world. My works over the years tell my sensitive clients about the time that was and is no longer and to evoke in them the child that was once hypnotized by the glass cabinet in the house of a beloved grandmother.
