Secret Pain, 2021–22

Used joints filters, pergament paper, cotton, epoxy, silver, pain killers, medical cannabis waste, rolling paper, steel

The syntax of this series combines numerous personal details, each intended – in one way or another – to alleviate pain. These details are assembled into a symbolic cluster, forming an abstract self-portrait. The transformation of discarded elements into a jewelry piece seeks to render the private into public, and reveals what has been concealed. The works seek to engage honestly and directly with topics shrouded in silence, insisting on exposure in lieu of hiding, and on illumination and concentration in place of darkness and flattening.
