In this series, the mouth orifice becomes the central bodily arena for the presentation of heritage and tradition in a cultural context, which in this case is also religious. The grills were created using a unique technique developed by Gorbenko, forming an entire structure devoid of support or joints. This structure is affixed to the teeth in a manner that highlights historical symbols, rendering a personal body relevant and significant on a public level as well. Even the most personal space, the interior of the body, is transformed into an arena of discourse for an item of jewelry.
