We are exposed to varying sources of inspiration, some are physical, and some are hidden in drawers to be used in the future.  Our material world is rich and interesting and is an endless source of inspiration. I make objects using various techniques that express the process and characteristics of the material which blur the border between functional and sculptural. My work has sharp edges with exposed joins and surfaces. Using porcelain, I emphasize the translucency and delicacy of the material in contrast to rough clay that has a more primal feel. This combination creates a tension and aesthetic that I aspire to express in my works.
