As part of the 10 year celebrations of the Benyamini Center, artists, designers, and makers were invited to submit a proposal for a summer residency in the studio of the center. The winners are Elad Rosen, Tamara Anna Efrat, Naama Steinbock, Eleonora Orly Edlavitch.
The Benyamini Center has offered residencies for several years and we have hosted artists from Israel and abroad. This project is a collaborative project offered by the Benyamini School of Ceramic Art and the Benyamini Gallery and will focus on local artists/designers. It has received the support of Mifal Hapais and the winners will receive a work station in the studio, materials, professional guidance as needed and a stipend.
After ten years of activities, the Benyamini center has proved to be a meeting place between art, design and craft: we show the point of fusion but at the same time we preserve the local identity of ceramics. The winners come from different backgrounds and offered interesting proposals that broaden the borders of ceramics, we are curious to see where this will take their new making process.
