Crystalline glazes are spectacular in their beauty, replicating crystal growth in the earth, and as such they have clear rules. Opening a kiln can be wonderful or disappointing when the magic does not occur. In the workshop we will learn the history of these glazes, as well as the practical and technological aspects, preparing glazes and applying them to pots prepared ahead by the participants. The process will be completed with a reduction firing in the raku kiln.
For the adventurous with experience in wheel throwing or hand building.
