Basic Hand building in Porcelain

Porcelain is a delicate and unique material that requires skill throughout the making process in order to enhance its qualities. We will work with slabs using various making techniques and learn to join and dry the objects including textured tiles, functional pots, vessels and decorative objects.
Handbuilding or wheel throwing experience required

The workshop will focus on this unique, fascinating and challenging material in ceramic design and sculpture. Through group demos and individual hands-on practice, inspired my makers from around the world, we will use traditional handbuilding techniques: pinching, slabs and coils to create sculptural projects and experiment incorporating other materials.
Handbuilding experience required.
